"It is high time that the stupidity and sham in pictorial photography be struck a solarplexus blow.” and “Claims of art won’t do. Let the photographer make a perfect photograph. And if he happens to be a lover of perfection and a seer, the resulting photograph will be straight and beautiful - a true photograph."

The 1st Philippine Multimedia/Design Firm/Studio Dream

Too much? I think not. Steve Jobs did a really good job of inspiring people. He was an illusyonada. I think…

Because I googled multimedia/designers group/firm and well… nothing really substantial popped up, My dream is to establish The 1st Philippine multimedia/designers group/firm.

What we do?

Graduating from a Multimedia Arts course gave me a look into the design process in different Art related fields.

Web Design, Animation, Photography, Videography, Visual Design, Industrial designers, Interior Designers and decorators, events organization, Other Big Events, Family Portraits, and maybe post-mortem photos of people too. Advertising, Fashion, Lifestyle and pretty much whatever trends in the higher echelons of society. Seems to broad? Big goals, small steps. I’ll eventually get there.

Why sound so ‘up there’ ? …well, I basically have to be original and differentiate myself from the ‘others’..

Here I quote from wikipedia

‘taste’ [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taste_(sociology) ]

When taste is explained on account of its functions for status competition, interpretations are often built on the model of social emulation. It is assumed, firstly, that people desire to distinguish themselves from those with lower status in the social hierarchy and, secondly, that people will imitate those in higher positions.[17]

The German sociologist Georg Simmel (1858-1918) examined the phenomenon of fashion - as manifested in rapidly changing patterns of taste. According to Simmel, fashion is a vehicle for strengthening the unity of the social classes and for making them distinct. Members of the upper classes tend to signal their superiority, and they act as the initiators of new trends. But upper-class taste is soon imitated by the middle classes. As goods, appearances, manners etc. conceived as high-class status markers become popular enough, they lose their function to differentiate. So the upper classes have to originate yet more stylistic innovations.

My Firm has to be done in good taste! I really got inspired by Pixar’s headquarters and Apple’s Headquarters in Cupertino. Both of which is a product of Job’s incessant addiction to do and make things in ‘good taste’.

And here I quote Steve…

The only problem with Microsoft is they just have no taste. They have absolutely no taste. And I don’t mean that in a small way, I mean that in a big way, in the sense that they don’t think of original ideas, and they don’t bring much culture into their products.

The Office? The Firm? The Studio?

Maybe a white space, something contemporary and something minimalist, wooden floors, white walls, bauhaus furniture, natural lighting. Has a playroom, has plants, an espresso machine, a library of different resources. A brick wall? I don’t know. I really want people to feel comfortable when they work. Nothing too boring, nothing too playful, someting just right. Inviting for the clients and inspiring for my colleagues.

Here’s some design pegs I’d love consider.

But for now, I’d have to settle with my small room and continue studying some worthless subject.
